Big Brother 26 took a surprising turn during the Wednesday, August 7, episode, giving viewers a chance to vote for this week’s replacement nominee.

The episode featured Tucker Des Lauriers winning the Power of Veto competition. Rather than using the veto to save himself, Tucker chose to take Angela Murray off the block, which surprised his housemates.

While Tucker and Head of Household Cedric Hodges had discussed the option of saving Angela and then competing against Quinn Martin and Kenney Kelley in the BB AI arena, Cedric ultimately decided that it was too risky and they didn’t have the votes to send Quinn home. Cedric advised Tucker to use the veto on himself, but Tucker declined. As a result, Cedric named Makensy Manbeck as the replacement nominee instead of Quinn.

After Cedric made his decision, Tucker concluded the veto meeting by saying, “This veto meeting is adjourned.” However, Makensy activated the America’s Veto upgrade she received earlier in the game, allowing her to remove herself from the block. Consequently, the process for selecting the replacement nominee is now open to viewer votes.

Instead, America will vote to determine who will compete live against Tucker and Kenney, 52, in the BB AI arena on Thursday, August 8. The winner of this competition will be safe, while the two remaining nominees will face eviction during the live vote.

To vote for the America’s Veto nominee, go to CBS.com/BBvote and choose one of the eligible houseguests. The possible nominees are Quinn, Brooklyn Rivera, Cam Sullivan-Brown, Chelsie Baham, Joseph Rodriguez, Kimo Apaka, Leah Peters, Rubina Bernabe, and T’kor Clottey. Voting will be open until 12 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Voting is open to U.S. residents who are at least 18 years old, with a maximum of 10 votes allowed per email address.

The nominee with the most votes will learn their fate live on Thursday, just before the BB AI arena competition. If this nominee fails to win, they will face eviction against either Tucker or Kenney.

The veto meeting has already created significant drama in the house. Tucker accused Cedric of not advising him to use the veto on himself, which Cedric denies. Tucker has now targeted Cedric as a result. Additionally, Quinn’s secret Deepfake HOH power, which allows him to control nominations covertly for a week, has become known to the house. This means that anyone opposed to Quinn has a strong incentive to vote him out if he ends up on the block.

Big Brother airs Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays on CBS and Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET.
