Ice-T’s 8-year-old daughter, Chanel, recently made a fun visit to the set of Law & Order: SVU, where her father stars. On August 2, Ice-T and his wife, Coco Austin, shared charming footage of Chanel exploring the set on Instagram.
In the video, Chanel is seen sitting behind the camera, relaxing in a director’s chair, and even sitting at the desk of Olivia Benson, the character played by Mariska Hargitay. Austin playfully captioned the post, “Oh no @babychanelnicole is taking over @nbclawandorder!! Watch out directors, cameramen, and even Olivia Benson’s spot! Don’t sleep on this chick! She does it all!”
Austin continued the fun with a light-hearted warning to Ice-T, saying, “Behind the scenes, Law & Order, someone’s trying to take daddy’s job.”
In a humorous touch, the video shows a desk nameplate originally reading “Capt. Olivia Benson” being swapped with one labeled “Capt. CHANEL.”
Mariska Hargitay joined in the fun by commenting, “Thank God, somebody’s holding down the fort!!!”
Law & Order: SVU is currently in its 25th season and has been on the air since 1999 as the first spinoff of the Law & Order franchise. Ice-T joined the show in its second season.
Ice-T and Coco Austin married in 2002 and welcomed Chanel in 2015. Ice-T also has an adult daughter, LaTesha Marrow, 48, and an adult son, Tracy Marrow, 32, from previous relationships. In a June 2024 interview with Us Weekly, Ice-T reflected on being a father later in life, noting, “The difference with Chanel and my other kids is I’m very conscious of this baby.”
He elaborated on the That Moment With Daymond John podcast in May 2023, saying, “With my first daughter, I was young and often absent. My son came at a time when I was becoming famous, which was distracting. With Chanel, I’m more settled and present.”
