Sam Asghari is not focused on dating following his divorce from Britney Spears.
Currently, Asghari jokes that his main focus is on his pet dog, describing her as a “high-maintenance girl” who requires regular grooming, outings to the dog park, and special treats. “Right now, I’m focused on taking care of my dog and dedicating my time to my career,” he told Us Weekly on July 31.
Asghari emphasized that his career in acting and producing demands his full attention. “My career goals require a significant amount of effort and dedication,” he said. “Seeing my sisters excel in their pursuits motivates me to put in the hard work needed to achieve my own goals.”
Although his career ambitions are substantial, Asghari tries to remain grounded. “My goals might seem ambitious, but I’m aware that they require a lot of time and energy,” he added. “As a result, I’m not currently focused on dating.”
Asghari has been single since filing for divorce from Spears in August 2023, after 14 months of marriage. The divorce was finalized in May 2024, and Asghari reflects on the experience as a valuable learning opportunity. “Going through significant life experiences teaches you a lot,” he noted. “My past relationship was a tough lesson in the realities of Hollywood.”
Asghari isn’t fixated on his past relationships.
“I focus on appreciating and celebrating the past,” he said. “It’s important to me to honor where I’ve come from and the experiences that have shaped me.” Asghari, originally from Iran, added, “Living the American dream is a huge achievement for me, and I’ll always value that. I see it as a significant milestone in my life, and I’m grateful for the journey. Anything that comes next is a bonus, and I’ll continue to cherish those moments.”
Currently, Asghari is concentrating on his acting career. Following a role in Max’s Hacks, he has landed a part as Senior Agent Ash in Jackpot.
“As someone who came from a different country and didn’t initially speak the language, I grew up watching action films because they’re often dubbed into various languages,” Asghari explained. “These films really resonated with me from a young age. Being part of an action movie, which involves a lot of wrestling and rehearsing, is incredibly exciting.”
Asghari expressed his enthusiasm for working on the Paul Feig-directed project, appreciating its blend of action and comedy. He considers it a “blessing” to be cast alongside John Cena, Awkwafina, and Simu Liu.
“They’re all fantastic people and successful in the industry,” he said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from them and be a part of this experience. I never take these moments for granted.”
